Monica Mohan: Father Altman Unites Catholics | Letters to the Editor
I live in the Diocese of La Crosse, Wisconsin. I am writing once again in support of Father James Altman, to underline the unity he has achieved among believers all over the world.
I will always be a Catholic, but it’s not just about “being Catholic”, it’s about unity within our Church and having these examples of clergy who heroically live the Catholic Faith. Father Altman gave me this modern example of what it looks like. In addition, he also gave me a window into the courage, strength and love for the faith that these martyrs of old possessed.
He gave me this sense of community, and with Christ at our head, Father Altman is this common thread that unites us in the bond of Truth. Through our gratitude for his efforts and his clear teaching, we come together – whether in the same city or thousands of miles away. I feel less and less alone. This has been invaluable to me, not only during this time of covid, but at all times. I have a much larger family now because of him.
He was this Father that too many people did not know – this Father who loves us all to the point that he is ready to be even hated by some – for the good of our souls and of the Truth. With Father, we feel truly cared for and cherished.
