The Revival: Will take place May 23-26 at the following locations: 6:00 pm Sunday evening at Bethel Springs Baptist Church with church singers and the preaching of Brother Lyle Eaton; at 7 p.m. Monday evening at New Beginnings Baptist Church with special singer Cindy Gabrel and the preaching of Brother Michael Cook; at 7 p.m. Tuesday evening at Bethel Springs Baptist Church with special singers The Carters and Brother Lyle Eaton’s preaching; and at 7 p.m. Wednesday evening at New Beginnings Baptist Church with special singers from the Calhoun family and the preaching of Brother Michael Cook. Mount. Verd Baptist Church: Will host a spring revival May 23-26 with preacher Chad Oody and Worship in Song. Union Chapel United Methodist Church: will hold return services on Sunday, May 23 at 11 a.m. There will be a lucky meal after the service at the outdoor picnic tables.

Double Springs Baptist Church: will feature Shelley Cline, national award-winning Christian country and positive message artist from Statesville, NC, at 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 22. Church located at 111 County Road 776 in Athens. Everyone is welcome.

McMahan Calvary Cemetery: Located in Athens on County Road 172 (formerly Clearwater Road), in need of immediate donations to continue mowing and servicing in 2021. The cemetery is maintained only through donations from families and friends. Donors should make checks payable to the McMahan Calvary Cemetery Fund and mail them to Robert Guthrey, a fund trustee, at PO Box 272, Athens, TN 37371-0272.

East Tennessee Treasure Hunters Club: Currently in training for anyone interested in metal detecting and wishing to be part of a group that meets and takes trips to the East Tennessee area. Contact Joe in Etowah at 423-493-3706 for more information or to join the club.

Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Etowah: Looking for donations to keep mowing. Send checks payable to Pleasant Grove Cemetery and mail to: Karen Wear Taylor, 131 County Road 903, Etowah, TN 37331. Non-Denominational Bible Clubs: Will meet every Tuesday from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at North City School and every Wednesday from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Westside School. There will be games, snacks and Bible stories. The teacher will be Pam McAchren. There is no membership fee for clubs, which are not directly affiliated with host schools. The clubs are designed to be fun for children who are learning stories from the Bible. All students in grades 3, 4 and 5, including Kids Connection, can join the club. St. Mary’s Catholic Church: The annual Adult Christian Initiation Rite (RCIA) takes place Wednesday evenings at 6:45 p.m. after weekly Wednesday evening mass at the parish Family Life Center.
